What Is the Medical Weight Loss Program Process?
STEP 1 – SCHEDULING MADE EASY
Booking an appointment is easy! Just call us at 612-590-7762 or send an email to email@example.com and request an initial appointment.
If you decide to move forward with the initial office visit, we will send you an online questionnaire to gather information about your medical history, background, lifestyle, overall health, and concerns. We will provide you with a lab order that can be brought to the lab of your choice, or you can have the labs drawn in the comfort of our clinic at the time of your visit.
STEP 2 - INITIAL OFFICE CONSULTATION AND ASSESSMENT
Once the completed paperwork and lab results have been received then it is time to see you in the clinic. During this visit we will work together as a team to address your concerns and come up with viable solutions for your weight loss journey.
STEP 3 - FOLLOW UP VISITS (4-6 weeks after starting your treatment plan)
During the follow-up visits, we will meet to discuss your progress and how you are doing with your current regimen.
We recommend that you repeat this process at 1 to 3-month intervals the first year, so we can maintain your results and/or adjust the medications depending on your individual reactions. These office visits are included in the membership program cost as well as any phone calls you may need to have with our staff. We value your trust and want to ensure your confidence in us every step of the way.
Frequently Asked Questions
The Mind Body Skin Lifestyle Reset is a program that uses proven methods for long-term results—the latest science, FDA-approved medication, one-on-one health care practitioner visits, and personal accountability coaching on food, exercise, sleep, and emotional health for weight loss and a reset that lasts.
FDA approved medications are only currently available to adults between the ages of 18-64 with a BMI of 30 and above (or 27 and above with other metabolic conditions) who aren’t pregnant or breastfeeding, and who aren’t dealing with substance abuse, eating disorders, cancer, recent bariatric surgery, active gallbladder disease, or history of pancreatitis or history of medullary thyroid cancer (MEN syndrome).
You can also choose to join the non-prescription path on your Lifestyle Reset.
Medications that our medical providers at Mind Body Skin prescribe are FDA-approved and have been scientifically proven to help with weight loss. Everybody is different, so your health care provider may prescribe one of several potential medications based on your unique biology and medical history. Your provider will discuss different medication options before finalizing your plan.
We will also evaluate your current prescription medications and make suitable adjustments to alternate prescription medications that better help to support weight loss.
No! We offer both a Prescription and a Non-Prescription Path.
When you join the Mind Body Skin Lifestyle Reset you will complete a comprehensive health assessment and blood work. Your medical provider will carefully assess your appropriateness for the program and customize your treatment plan. You DO NOT need to take medication to see results with the Lifestyle Reset.
The Mind Body Skin Lifestyle Reset is focused on helping you make healthier food choices. We try to rebalance your eating, not restrict it! We promote whole, unprocessed foods as part of a metabolically healthy diet. While the Lifestyle Reset does allow flexibility, we caution that refined carbohydrates and sugar are the biggest causes contributing to weight gain. Not to mention being highly addictive.
The food programs we recommend are a healthy, sustainable way of eating that promotes weight loss and sets you up for long-term success. We focus on the quality of foods and make sure your body is getting the proper nutrients while helping you to feel in-control. The Lifestyle Reset is not a diet, but a journey.
You will work with your health care practitioner to make changes that work for your lifestyle and dietary needs or preferences.
Using the BodySite app will help you learn how to make healthier food habits in the life you’re already living.
No, Mind Body Skin Medspa does NOT accept insurance. Our priority is providing you with individualized care rather than letting insurance dictate what care is provided. However, you may use HSA funds to pay for some of our services. We can also provide you with a letter of medical necessity for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
The following routine blood tests are included as part of the program.
• Hemoglobin A1c
• Lipid panel
• Comprehensive metabolic panel
• B12 and folate
• High sensitivity C-reactive protein (CRP)
• Thyroid-stimulating hormone, Free T3 and Free T4
• Vitamin D
Additional labs, if needed, and are NOT included in your membership cost; however, we can work with you to try to get them covered by your insurance company.
Prescription medications are NOT included in the program cost; however, we can work with you to try to have it covered by your insurance company.
If you have a high deductible plan, you will have to pay through that deductible before additional labs and medications are covered. Since some medications that our Mind Body Skin practitioners currently prescribe are brand-name medications, high-deductible plans will not cover them before you reach your deductible (which may differ from their coverage of other—typically generic—medications). If you have any questions about your coverage eligibility, reach out to us.
You may use HSA or FSA funds to pay for your One-Year Lifestyle Reset.
Please note that while you may use HSA funds to pay for the program cost, if you have a high deductible insurance plan, you’ll have to pay through that deductible before labs or medications are covered.
Mind Body Skin can draw your blood onsite or send a lab order to a certified lab of your choice.
We recommended the following labs: Hemoglobin A1c test (for blood sugar control); a lipid panel (for cholesterol levels); a comprehensive metabolic profile (for kidney and liver function); B12 and Folate (to screen for deficiencies); thyroid panel (to screen for an underactive thyroid); and Vitamin D (to screen for vitamin D deficiency).
You may use HSA funds to pay for some of our services. We can also provide you with a letter of medical necessity for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
BodySite is the HIPAA compliant desktop and mobile app we use as a way for you to communicate with your medical team. With the BodySite app you can access your care instructions, videos, recipes, exercises and more anywhere you go. The BodySite app also allows us to monitor and track your progress in real time.
We designed the Mind Body Skin Lifestyle Reset program to fit into your life. The initial visit with your health care practitioner will be 60 minutes. This visit is longer because we want to get a chance to know you. We will obtain a detailed comprehensive history and exam, draw your blood and answer any medical questions about your program. You will also check in with your medical team monthly for the first three months and then every 1-3 months, depending upon your progress and needs. Your practitioner will order new lab work at month 12 (and month 6 if needed). Your team is available by messaging, phone, video or in-person if you want to follow up.
