Minor temporary swelling and bruising are possible. Rare side effects may include, but are not limited to: pain, redness, numbness, and areas of hardness around the treatment area.

Do NOT get this treatment if you: are pregnant or nursing; have an infection in the treatment area, bleeding problems, or difficulty swallowing; or if you are currently taking antiplatelet or anticoagulant medication.

The number of Kybella syringes needed depends on the area being treated and the amount of fat to be dissolved. 2-3 syringes of Kybella are generally needed for dissolving submental fullness (fat below the chin).
